1933 schwarz sshr photo

well, i didnt plan on the thread going in this direction when i started it. it unfortunatly is the truth and is now part of the history attached to this particular ring. hopefully the thread stays open for discussion about the schwarz ring for others to view and have a recorded history of it. i will dig through my piles of cd's after the holidays to see if i can put all of my photos up i have of it.

I'm sorry, what did I not disclose about the ring? It was fully disclosed that the ring was restored, at all stages of my ownership of it. It was purchased as-is, a ring of this type, with this kind of damage, NEVER having been seen before, and never knowing what it would sell for. I don't see what the problem is. I had it for MANY YEARS before auctioning it, and spent a LOT of time and money getting the ring restored. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Do you know how many things I've sold, that people have turned around and double and tripled their money on?

you are seriously going to try and play dumb on this? i made the mistake of telling you i needed to sell the ring and didnt have time to mess around waiting for guys to make up thier mind. my mistake! you convinced me the ring was in no way even close to being worth that $12000 mark. when i asked you for copies of the wolfe ring photos you told me you couldnt find them when i intended on doing the same thing with a replacement skull. and low and behold as soon as you got the ring bang you were able to find the photos apparently.then,the whole custody story concerning me and where the ring came from was indeed supposed to be in the book....wheres that? then finaly you promised a signed first edition addressed to me as soon as it was finished being printed. when the book never came your only explanation was you didnt order any extra copies but you would be glad to sell me one and sign it. yeah i am disgusted with that whole transaction but i should thank you,....you have tought me to get everything in writing no matter what when it comes to trusting someones word in a transaction like this! thanks

I'm sorry, this reads like a kid's soap opera. The only reason I even found this thread was while researching something else. I bought the ring, I had it restored, I kept it for years, and then it went up for auction, and sold. End of story as far as I remember. But thank you ... I do love the attention.

craig you are 100% correct. it is ridiculous. you had no memory lapse in your skills in buying the ring,and sweet talking the deal. and considering the big deal you made about getting the highest ranked sshr to exist all of a sudden you cant remember any details about the obtainment of that ring and the deal with it? i'm lost,i can remember where and how i got every single piece in my collection.especialy my favorite pieces! i may have been born in the day,just not yesterday buddy! hope this is the attention your so fond of.

i was going through some of my old files and found one of the pics of the 1933 christmas eve franz xavier schwarz ring i used to own. i was the owner prior to gottleib bending me over for it. i do have more photos of it on cd somewhere but havent come across them yet. i was looking at old posts and questions concerning the ring and how it got this way. i will post the complete story in a follow up. just wanted to share it with everyone. some of you may remember me from the old gdc. i drifted off forums after the all battles that ensued towards the end. i just want to collect and continue to learn. so hope you enjoy the photo and story.thanks

Just came across this amazing old post while doing some SS research. This is the first time I see what the original Schwarz Ring looked like before it got restored. I think it looked amazing just the way it was and should have never been messed with.

People are too quick to tinker with things. That's as true today as it was back then.
