    Yard sale find 11/2/13

    Hello forum

I post my yard sale finds from time to time. I found this lot yesterday.

I went to just over 200 yard sales since Thursday... but took today off. Besides this lot... the only other find was some US patches sewn onto a towel (last image) the day before.

The guy I bought this lot pulled out an envelope that said: "WWII Nazi memb."

His grandfather was in WWII... and passed away some time ago. He might have more stuff... and will get back with me.

I assume the stuff is genuine. It appears to have glued/pinned to some sort of album that came apart.

There is a piece of material that supposedly came from the "Eagle's Nest." Not sure it's from a couch or curtain... but.. no proof anyway.

The SS tab is hard with glue to the back. the eagle is fairly nice.

There are other pieces of insignia along with an eagle cut off a German army overseas cap. Also.. a couple pieces of US insignis as shown.

    Thanks for the help Robert

Still a VERY nicely worn and fine original flatwire tab

                      Congratulations, Ian.

200 sales to find these two sets? yep, thats about right...a lot of gas and driving around to look at things that mostly are dumpster food but one can get lucky from time to time, that piece of upholstery cloth intrigues me....it jogs my memory a bit of a couch from the Berghof....wonderful items.

                            Love the tab,
                            You give us hope!

(although the weather here has turned nasty, so no garage sales till spring)

The weather in Wisconsin is never nasty; when it gets a few degrees cooler it just scares away a few thin skinned people from Illinois.
