I am more curious as to where that piece of beige cloth could be from. Hitler's couch?

thanks guys for the awesome comments... and I am sorry that I didnt respond to most pms.

I am surprised the interest in the cloth.. I will post better photos.

But... here is some cool from the Eagles Nest as well.

I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT! The guy is difficult to deal with.

Images are from my camera phone.

I first meet this guy at his yard sale 5 years ago... and again met him two weeks ago at another sale he had.

He says he bought this marble at an estate sale about 25 to 30 years ago in Missouri for around $25.

Five years ago... he was likely going to sell it to me... but.. he could not spit out a price.. and I just kept going up on my offer... and stressed that he has no provenance anyway.

It supposed to be a piece of the Italian marble fireplace a GI broke off. It's fairly heavy. Polished on one side.

The plaque looks old... but looks post war done to me. Likely 1960's or 1970's.

                      material

That piece of material needs to be identified ...
I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THAT WAS FROM THE EAGLE NEST .
                      VERY COOL GROUPING

Both the "eagle's nest" and The Berghof have fireplaces made of that type of marble - The Eagle's nests is relatively intact so it probably (if real) came from the Berhof.

Berghof eventually totally stripped of marble. (credit to 3rd Reich in Ruins website )

Eagle's Nest - pretty much as it looks today.
