fake cap on Collector's Guild website

    Dear members,

This fake just turned up on PW's website:

    http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Waffe...s/S019469.html

I notified the seller. See these links regarding the insignia:

I'm mostly into high quality repro SS stuff, and have this BeVo set on several caps, as they are the best available, so I recognized them straight away. Don't buy this cap!

all average SS collectors have a warning if see a panzer cap with white numbers... 10 warining if there is more than a number.

tk is very easy to spot, eagle could fool.

The detailed description leads one to believe he sat down and actually had a decent look at the piece, so the old "he must of let this one slip through accidentally" doesn't hold a lot of weight.

Sick of hearing the same thing.

It probably is being sold on consignment from someone else. Peter is pretty good about flaging and pulling stuff. SS is not an area of expertise.

If someone politely points out the item in question to him by email I'm sure that Peter will politely and graciously reply and remove the item from sale. He did this when I pointed out a bad armband and label to him a couple of years or so ago.

                      .

I wouldn't worry about it, a quick email to inform him is all that's needed. Peter has always acted in the most trustworthy and honest way in his dealings with me, he nowhere near fits the "description" of the "patterns set" by those who are/have been "questionable" in their business beyond the rumor mill and actual fact above the whispers. We have seen similair threads baout Bill Shea's site when an odd item came up. I would put my money on honest mistake or other, but I have yet to feel Peter W is out to deceive anybody, quite the contrary! These two dealers i have mentioned i feel know the value of customer trust quite well, this stuff is also not cheap as well.

What do you think of the stripped M-36 W-SS tunic (SO22069)? Heer issue tunic and cut - but with two holes? I can see about four-five red flags here...

The Collector's Guild is top notch!!
the item will disappear immediately, we all know this for sure!

PW is exceptional at taking care of his clientele...
all that is needed is that it is pointed out..

Same here had a ribbon bar with a Memel mistaken for a DAK ribbon. He removed the listing and politely replied with a thank you.
