Is that a good excuse? He would gladly take your money.....if you dont " know" an item you should not sell it.

There is SO much fake stuff out there that every dealer who handles hundreds or thousands of items is going to make errors regardless of how honest they are. CG deals with these rare situations very properly.

I read somewhere here that he once emailed a previous customer alerting them what he sold was a fake and refunded him.

            Good on WAF.

You are completely right. No European dealer would get so much mercy for his mistakes.

That said, I like the Collectors Guild a lot. Bought some small items with a happy ending.

To knowingly sell a fake is a very lowlife thing to do , I just get the impression that this seller deals with militaria in general and does not specialise in SS , I know of UK dealer's which have taken big money from me when they knew the items they sent me were fake , they are just less than the scum in the prison's that we have , and I tried to get money back a couple of times with no avail

That's said the here. Makes it less fun to collect.

And worse yet, fabricate an item intently to deceive. I have no problems with restoring an item but as long as it's denoted.

Excellent approach because here is another honest mistake on the site right now to make a refund for,

I just want to join in this discussion, as i have purchased multiple items from the Collector's guild, and have always been very pleased with the items I have received.

But, I had NO IDEA that his entire inventory was consignment

Anyway, I just wanted to give credit where due and to say that their customer service, along with their pieces (that I have bought) have been exactly as described.

I actually purchased one of my favorite pieces in my collection from the Guild. I am a HJ collector, and I took a shot on a cigarette card book, and could not believe what I received from the investment. An amazing collection of photographs and insignia examples where the ad only had a couple pages showing. Simply outstanding.

These are but a few of the examples that are contained in this HUGE book. I could not be happier with this purchase. And like I have said, I have purchased other items and all have been as described. I would describe the Collector's guild as a trusted seller. I have yet to have a negative experience.
