I do not question originality of this ring but i have question how normal is for period ring to have a silver and maker mark stamp on the outside of the ring? and not inside which is more common?

Very common to be stamped outside band
For period Dutch silver, especially on Wolfangel rings
Of which I owned 1 and pzb14 has 2 in his collection with same stamps

This is my ring and former it was one of pzb14 two wolfhook rings. I got it from him.
These to the stamps:
The codes on the ring;
1st stamp ( sword) is a Dutch maker approval stamp.
2nd stamp (letter "G") is a Dutch system date stamp which indicates it was made in 1941. (H=1942, etc...)
So it is an early Dutch made "Legioen Niederlande" ring.
Only in germany rings were only stamped on the inside of the ringband....Comment

I agree it would be more common and expected to find such silver hallmarks on the inside of such rings...
Definately a standard German practise!
This Dutch Legion ring was locally made in Holland and has the Dutch silver content Hall mark
(grade number worn off) + a date letter "G".
Dutch silver (and UK made silver) always has letter codes for dating purposes (at least since the 19th century).
A handy reference for dating antique silver! In this case the "G" in this style font means 1941.
So this is an early Dutch legion ring and was found at a former German POW cage in Germany the seller informed me.
( btw it has been put on hold for me)

Although I don't know anything about wolfsangel rings I like to search for silver items on fleamarkets etc.overhere in Holland.
I don't think the G is the date letter as these are mostly only found on larger silver items.
The small hallmark with the G would more likely be the makersmark of the jeweler that made the ring.
Perhaps I can find the maker for you but that would take some time searching some websites.
Before 1953 there was no grade number inside the small sword mark so thats normal.

This one was posted on Warrelics in 2012 and has the markings on the inside.
However it appears to be a (little used) modern copy of this same (Dutch Leg.) design with the added engraving;
???? Nederland + 1944, a big red flag for me...
Generally, the more spectacular the ring (design and engraving), the less chance of it being genuine!
Somebody on that forum discussing this example Wolfhook ring stated this:
Most of the rings are fantasy pieces - such rings never existed pre 1945. The ring You got is also a fantasy item.
