I was watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade the other day, and I was wondering about the SS uniform that Standartenführer Vogel was wearing in the desert tank chase. It was a pebble brown (greyish khaki) color. It appears to be an M32 officer tunic, but that seems a bit odd for the desert. Shouldn't he be wearing an SS tropical uniform? If anyone can offer some insight, that would be very helpful.

I also think Lucas and Spielberg were trying to get that old 30's and 40's matinee vibe with the IJ series (at least until the epic disaster that was Crystal Skull). Most of the uniforms were way off, or had not even been designed for the period In which the movies were set. I was impressed with the Artillery tunic that Indy wore for a bit in Last Crusade. I thought that one was pretty convincing!
