    The tunic that started the thread is an odd duck and to play it safe probably better to avoid it...I agree!
    On the other hand it would look good though with all the proper SD insignia stitched in place!
    Looks home made. Terrible.

      Here is another SD tunic for sale online. The listing said the insignia are restored but is it possible to determine if the tunic itself likely is/was a SD tunic?

        That's a nice combat tunic period modified with an open collar (+ shiny buttons), which was popular with tie + shirt wearing SD personnel.
        The added wool is in a slightly different color! Looks ligit! Peter has nice stuff!

        One word of caution, SchuPo combat police green tunics were sometimes post war modified with such collars for continued post war Polizei use, but this one looks like its not one of those...it is a modified M40 combat tunic in Field gray, which is appropriate for war time SD.
        The collar mod on the other hand does look more like polizei green wool...
