What I gathered from the thread is that the tunic was orginal. So, in this instance the sum of the parts (if orginal) are worth more than the whole?

I see it! Tunic cut to pieces...
      Repeated here for easier viewing!
and the image in 2006 when it was still a complete tunic... Jeez...

      Very sad indeed.

So the tabs were sewn on a different tunic collar than that of the other insignia and the tunic we know according to Hermann. Just to make it harder to recognise if someone knew the previous tunic?Ill bet.

I do trust Grenadier Mil. Ant. will now immediately remove those fakes from his site?! And yes Erik, you can trust that this mega rare cut-off W-SS fieldgrey wrap collar is a total post war creation.
Interesting to note that Mr. Herman continues to have the sleeve and the collar for sale on his site. No mention in the description of either of them being humped up (i.e., sleeve having an added eagle; collar having added tabs) and being recent cut-offs (cuts being made around 2006-2013 and not around 1939-1945).

Very material omissions, in my opinion.

All this cutting up reminds me of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Not to pile on, but in the interest of other collectors being aware, there is also a pair of signals shoulderboards that were thought to be suspect, and I have my doubts about this being an "Alterkämpfer Chevron"? I could be wrong, but it just looks like a rank Chevron to me?

You are correct, that is just a rank chevron, not an old fighter's chevron
