Cut off rank insignia. Real deal?

This is on Bruce Hermann's site. Looks a great piece. Tab looks good but is it original to the piece of wrap? Interested in opinions.

I'm always very cautious when it is cut-offs concerned, after all it is a easy way to upgrade any insignia.

Both items look original but have they indeed always been together?

Two questions for me for which I need to have it in hands:

      1. the collar shows a considerable amount of wear, wheras the tab not;
      2. what is that with the extra grey wool backing and vertical yellowish stitching? ...to increase the idea of it all belonging together...?

I think the rank stripes on the tab are fake.

I would be very cautious. The reason being i used to own the LAH sleeve and the collar with tabs,But when i owned these items they were attached to the rest of the tunic. The sleeve only had a cufftitle the collar had no tabs and no tress.
I sold the tunic on ebay it was discussed here before i joined the forum.

I n my opinion somone has modified these to maximise profit.Result someone will now have items in there collection that are not as they seem.
          Cheers

For $1000 I would go buy a nice matched set off E stand! Just my opinion!

I thought so too but based on the website close-up I thought they were good.

Please tell me someone didn't cut up a whole tunic which I examined when it just had the cufftitle and found it was a great example of a private tailored field tunic....why why why. Instead of selling it for a decent price they cut it up?

It does seem that way,Plus added a few extras like sleeve eagle tress and tabs.It is definatly the tunic i owned you can see the machine stitching above the letters A and O on the cufftitle also if you look at the pics on the website you will see a mark on the back of the cufftitle where it joins which i also remember.
                  Cheers

Unbelievable. The faking goes on and on...

That reduces the chances of the cut off collar piece being 'original cut off' to a minimum I guess. Shame really.

I would imagine from the remaining pieces left over from the body of the tunic they will be able to produce a whole mess of cut offs coming soon to a dealer near you ....

                            Pathetic.

I do trust Grenadier Mil. Ant. will now immediately remove those fakes from his site?! And yes Erik, you can trust that this mega rare cut-off W-SS fieldgrey wrap collar is a total post war creation.

Bruce is a great guy BUT there are problem unifroms on that sight here and there just like any other, many of you guys only collect SS so Im gonna tell you the political section goes overlooked with several problem uniforms in the past and present(HJ leader tunic wrong insignia}.Whenever I told him about things though he removed them. There is a lot of faith from everyone in this field. That is why its great to be a part of a community instead of a lone collector, case in point the tunic here torn up is known.

Also just saw the questionable Reichsfuhrung-SS tunic from Relics of the Reich now being sold at Hermanns.Wow someone didnt own that very long. The diamond has been disputed here amongst other things.
