before I provide some more informations about his action during the Battle of the bulge I will at first show that pic. He is already Hauptsturmführer. It was taken most likely a few days or weeks before the offensive startet. According to his later crew he was most of the time very depressed without much hope. I think that pic is conform with that statement.

The next series of pics were first published in "Duell in the mist" Vol2:

            http://www.amazon.de/Duel-Mist-2-Tim...+in+the+mist+2

I can strongly recomment that book for everyone who is interested in the battle of the bulge.

The following pics show panzer of the 7. Kp. These pics belonged to Klingelhöfer - i even assume he took them. The first 3 shows panzer on the march. One cannot recognize the number but none of them is Klingelhöfers "701". The cannon is still covered - that means it must be before the start of the offensive. I assume its the 14. or 15. of Dezember - the march into the starting point.

in that pic one can see the very special camouflage of the MkIV tanks of Kampfgruppe Peiper (dot overlay). I will later show another clearer pic.

Nice portraits of him, I hadn't found an image as he's in my research of all pre-war Junkerschule Braunschweig cadets. He e was class of '39, commissioned April 20, 1940.

the next pics were taken later - the muzzle of the canon is now free. I think at the first day of the offensive (16. december). During the first 2 days the 7. company saw not much action. These pics show most likely Klingelhöfers "701".

It seems that the mood of the men is good at that point.

already shown in post 10: The guy with the fur hat is not Klingelhöfer. I assume he took the pic and his gunner Engelbert Bock (second in command) took his position. The young guy right is most likely his radio man Helmut Rentsch. Unfortunately one can only guess the turret number. It seems that next to the "Balkenkreuz" there is a 7 and a 0.

and now Klingelhöfer itself (the left men with the light coat) - together with the man with the fur hat. Without knowing would you believe that these two men are "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler"?

                      I will continue soon.

Unfortunately his album starts in 1942. I dont own any pics before - except of the RAD pic. (not yet). But I am still at the beginning of the research .

                              Interesting mix of cloth.

I bet that fur cap was captured by soldier on the eastern front.

Hard to imagine : Soviet caps used by Germans during attack against Americans...
