        My questions are:

What kind of sleave eagle do I need to restore the jacket?
Has anyone more informations or pics about him?
        What ribbon is that?

        Thanks for looking.

In post 8 is a photo of Theodor Eicke, Totenkopf commander until his death in a plane crash in Russia in '43.

Some of those photos are really very interesting.

The ribbon looks like EKII, Eastmedal, 1 oktober 1938 and 13 marts 1938

Can we see a close-up of the shoulder boards from top down.

Any traces of LAH cyphers originally on the boards, now stripped off?

              Cheers,
              Markus

I forgot one questions concerning Kampfgruppe Peiper. Thats the second former infanterie officer I know that was transfered to SS PzRgt 1 in 1944. Was that common before the battle of the bulge?

This fact is strange because a former infanterie officer is a panzer amateur - that would change my opinion about the elite status of that force in 1944.

No, no traces of chiphers or cuff title. By the way why didnt he wear a cufftitle on most of the pics?

I assume he changed that tunic when he was transfered to a panzer training unit and then this tunic hang at home until the war was over.

What a fantastic collection. Though not complete, the documented uniform of a TK officer, photos showing it's wear, and wartime awards / post-war prosecution and release are really though provoking. The condition of everything looks great.

I also would be interested in more detailed uniform pictures. Congratulations on this wonderful auction find.

                    regards, Robert

                        Yes, a super find!

If a tunic actually worn in service with the LAH, I would have easily paid double the result it achieved.

Now enjoy patiently restoring the tunic with quality insignia.

                        Cheers,
                        Markus

Thats always a controversial question. I dont have any problems with restored tunics as far as they were restored as worn. I think I will ad a pair of ordinary HStF tabs and a officer sleeve eagle - but not at once. Maybe the family find some more items of him.....

period is also my opinion because they sold the lot as found. But the sewing is not very well done - Who ever it was he was not a professional.
