I see the ersatz sweatbands on a lot of early SA caps as well--there seems to be no rhyme or reason (unless it was an economic choice by the original purchaser) why some have leather and some use the ersatz stuff.

      SS visors!

      Thanks much!

      Seller made adjustment!

I will be looking for a good eagle!

Should I try and find a same maker or would a say Zimmerman be ok?

Don't know where to find a real maker one like the skull!

Did the caps come with one maker only?

      Thanks Again!

I understand on quality its on how much money you have to spend
just like buying a Cadillac or chevy!

      How deep were your pockets!

        Hi Paul,

I would say that, at least 75% of all SS visors had a skull and eagle of different makers. The most common set that you will see on SS visors, is a Deschler skull with a Zimmermann eagle. As for a maker matched pair, that would be great, but it will be very hard to find a Deschler eagle.
They are by far, the rarest of all SS eagles. The M1/72 marked eagles are the most common. However, any eagle in matching material, finish and condition would be perfect. Hope this helps! Chris
