I don't like the eagle at all, but the skull appears to be a nice Deschler.

                          Nice caps, Paul!

And they look great on the red tablecloth. But trust me when I say
they would look even better on a nazi banner.

I agree with Chris that the skull is a Deschler original, but the eagle
is bogus. My guess is that it has a 41 next to a RZM circle on the back.
                          An old repro.

Lots of caps have leather sweatbands, while others have cardboard
or ersatz ones. Manufacturers variations probably. Or maybe slightly
                          higher quality for NCO issue.

Another thing; I don't believe that there were any original SS eagles made of Tombac or brass, etc. The eagles started two years later than the skulls, (1936), and this was the year that they stopped using those materials
for insignia and I believe this was documented.
However, the first 1936 pattern eagles were actually made in late 35
and had the markings "RZM 394/35" (These have been posted here before).
Anyway, I have seen several of these 394/35 eagles and they are all made
of CupAl. The thing is that most people mistake CupAl for Tombac or brass
because they look very similar but the CupAl is usually a bit darker.
The eagle on the visor above, appears to be brass.
                            Best, Chris
