Hello all..Just picked up this SS Drum Hanger from a nice vet buy today with other goodies ..Can anyone advise how rare they might be ?

This one was in with a nice veteran's lot of rare HJ and SS, I believe. GREAT group of warehouse-liberated stuff - it may look funky, but I'm sure it's real.

I know nothing of these except to say one is illustrated in U,O & H of the W-SS vol 1 by Bender publications Page 93 .... the cast nature of the eagle and overall appearance don't appeal to me personally, that's not a comment on authenticity just an observation.

I agree with Ian's comment about the nature of the eagle on these hangers. I have looked at quite a few of these at shows and often wondered wondered if the eagles were added later.
Curiously, the only period photographs I have seen of these actually in use show the hanger with no eagle.

I believe them to be fantasy pieces.
