Well here it is guys , i have elected to use this skull as it was a perfect fit with the outline of the tk that is missing and i did not have a clean zinc one that would normally have been used for waffen ss as i understand it. please correct me if my understanding of this is wrong .The liner it totally beat but kind of there and held together with a newspaper and thin staples , this was done by the vet ! Still salvagable and i am not touching it at this time. The cloth has some mothing but really not bad . there are a few threads missing on one corner of the front where the visor meets with the front of the cap. The the visor is great in all other respects . As one member stated in the other thread about the sale of the items this visor has a great shape to it as can be seen in the side view . I did notice that there was an ss eagle attached to it , you can see the holes the holes behind the Luft eagle that is sewn on .Now , as for the attachment of the Luft eagle i am open to all opinions as to why it is there , Is it really a Luftwaffen General or was it an attempt by the vet to monkey with the visor ? Given the nature of what the vet brought back i am inclined to think it is correct , also whom ever put the eagle on did take there time put it on in the right spot . If any of you guys see things about it please chim in . I got very lucky as we all sometimes do . This one i will be keeping for sometime .

The skull is a tight clean fit with no gaps. It fit the outline of the previous skull perfect , so it is likely that the other skull was a Deschler also.Comment

I do have the matching eagle for this skull it is a complete set that is now un complete for the time . if i find that the eagle does not belong on it I always have the eagle ready to go on .Comment

Maybe the Luftwaffe eagle shape was advantageous for covering up some moth bites that would show with an SS eagle? How is it attached?

The eagle seems to have been tacked on with a few loops of thread, as seen from the inside. The pin holes from the original SS eagle can be clearly seen on the inside lining...Comment
