Additionally I don't like the sweat "rhombus" which has no aging at all, the cap appears in unissued condition )I have never seen a cap from the thirties this minty clean and I am 100% with Chis that this is a repro insignia set.

        Pascal,
I am glad you have joined this thread since I borrowed your collection pictures as examples to compare with this visor. I hope you do not mind.
Your Allgemeine caps and entire display are more than impressive. Simply outstanding!
What do you think of this cap in question?

          Hi Stephan,
I only suggested my opinion. I fully respect your opinion as well. It's up to Weedy in how he will handle the situation after all. Trust me, I would love for his name to be puclic as mush as you want (I've been burned too, like most of us)

Minty is not = fake !

            Jerry, no problem !

this cap is'nt a fake because too mint condition (even if mint condition, has always trace of age, ALWAYS!) but because:

            -visor is fake,
            -sweatband is fake,
            -sweatshield is fake,
            -chintrap is fake,
            -RZM tag is fake,
            -side lining is fake,
perhaps the black trikot and white pipings are original.....perhaps

on mine never issued cap the the black wire which fixes the lining and the sweatband is so much raid, it breaks as soon as it's a little requested, 60 years always leave traces .

Oh Yes it's all fake. But if you look at the first photo and check out the Winnie the Pooh in the background. It is 100% Disney. A true original. Incidentally I am waiting on the dealers decision over the cap. Thanks to Gregory Koepp for posting the advert for this cap. Saved me the bother!

Well, at least you didn't get a fake Pooh.

Perhaps, if I put the Pooh inside the hat, it'll smell a touch more authentic.

I've heard of "The Cat in the Hat", but this one is a little strange. Have you had a response from the Dealer?

Well, one definite downer in my opinion - on the website, this cap's twin summer cousin is right below it, with an identical chinstrap... I also spotted a put-together medal bar, a fake SS ribbon bar and a fake "51" EKI. It would appear that the genuine articles are very highly priced, as well. I had never been to this guy's website - lots of stuff, but a real minefield!

                          Hi all,

I got some better pics of the eagle and let me say that it is just as fake as the skull. Would someone please post two pics of the eagle here for the forum to see? If so, please E-mail me at: FleetMac11@aol.com and they will show the obvious flaws. By the way, this is one of the best fake SS eagle reproductions
to date. They tried to imitate CupAl with the green/red/orange sunburst colors, (probably done with paint). Thanks! Chris
