As regards the original question. No. Close but no. Not only the shape of the lower pocket corners but look at the alignment of the buttons and button holes. No way near. While wearing may change the angle of the arm chevron, which also looks out, it could not magically raised the level of the static button holes in relation to the top pockets.
And yes. Period testament records he was arrested drunk as a skunk in civies and shot drunk as a skunk in civies.

The collar tabs look really close but compared to photos that I have of several very known originals' I am skeptical of these. I just don't trust the auction houses --- they've pulled a lot of crap over the years and I think this is just another piece of the crap. I wouldn't touch this with YOUR MONEY.

I've got a folder with a dozen or more fake SS generals, many of them named to top Waffen-SS generals, including Fegelein. Most are easy to spot if you know your SS general insignia. I think this Fegelein tunic is an up-scale fake... somebody is serious about ripping a collector off.

I imagine all the emails in the world highlighting this tunics shortcomings would not change HH's mind on listing it in the upcoming auction.

Just a crazy observation. But that name tag looks as if it was put on yesterday. No crease, no sweat, no bends, no damage from washing.

I had Gen Bodo Zimmerman's tunic, with a similar tag, but it looked like it had been cleaned several times. And there was a look of fade, due to chemicals/sweat/age to it that the name tag on this SS tunic just does not have.

I see what Arran is referring to and why...that would need a hands on to determine if there had been other bullion pips and then removed. Digital photos can do weird things.

Another possible clue: does a Munich based tailor make sense for him?
Residence? unit location?
Time frame? (tag date = June 1944)

I am very surprised by the tailor's tag. I thought it is a typical example of this tailor, A F Aker & F Ucker from Bumburg . Jacques

It may just be the photo but it looks to me like the left breast pocket is sewn on slightly lower than the right. Doesn't mean it isn't an original tunic but it suggests lower quality than you'd expect for such a prominent figure.

Also... my impression is that Fegelein generally wore a 'Florian Geyer' CT on his uniforms. Clearly not always, but usually.
