I saw the anti-Semitic sheets and anti-Soviet ones. At the time they were just making the 14th SS and some large posters. The paper was old, the ink was old, the method was correct.
- the ones I saw were tied in bundles with steel wire,,then urinated on... Allowed to rust a bit, then untied and left to blow around in their dirty back yards a few days.... They tried everything including the tea , coffee etc.
These were sold in the early to mid 1990s at the yearly [then] military show in Kiev and Bazaars..

Very nice grouping Emil! I originally owned that photo, it was one of the first Galicia photos that I ever had. I spent years searching, until I finally found them.
P.S. The photo in itself is interesting - first of all, by the size of it, looks like this was a spare photo from the soldier's soldbuch. Secondly the enlisted fellow is wearing M-36 tunic, something that this late in the war was usually worn by the officers. I don't think I ever seen any other enlisted men wearing such tunics - most likely this person was intended to be trained as NCO and decided to "upgrade" himself in the mean time.

Wolodymyr Trident Variant
Hello there!
So I was venturing the internet again these past times and I came across some writings and images in Axishistory.com and Warrelics that there seems to be a second variant of collar tab with the symbol of Wolodymyr Trident on it.
Any of you have pictures of this particular variant in use?
Thank you

Hi,
the "famous" map was made by the Germanische Leitstelle on Feburary 1st, 1945 (see below. The maps of Klietmann and Landwehr are modified ones).
The map is including many dubious/never produced Kragenspiegel, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Remember that at least since the middle of 1944 the SS administration started to shut down, and other similar errors were made ("celtic cross" Kragenspiegel on the SS-Taschen-Kalender 1945 listed as been for the French volunteers).

French volunteer - nice to see this map in good resolution. Intereting that the Latvian swastika tab is completely omitted. The blank tabs probably indicate that there were plans to intriduce collar tabs for those areas, but the design was never made.
Gaspare - yes i remember that picture. I think the tab looked ok but the YBB shield was completely out of place, probably added later. Who knows, perhaps the whole thing was a put together to begin with.

Hi,
in the book "Die Waffen-SS. Eine dokumentation" published in 1965, Kurt-Gerhard Klietmann proposed a lightly modified and reversed/negative version of the Germanische Leitstelle map.
Richard Landwehr published an "updated/modified" map in black & white ("Siegrunen" N°70, 2001) then in color ("Siegrunen" N°80, 2008).
See below the 2008 version.
