Interesting! The SS being a Godless formation would otherwise not have chaplains...so no regs on this!
However for foreign volunteer units (legions) they obviously made an exception...Like the Muslims in Handschar. Their Imams wore SS pattern Sonderfuhrer (specialist)
shoulderboards...In the Wehrmacht chaplains of course wore no shoulderboards period! (and purple on their caps and collar tabs...)

I wonder what farbe this SS chaplain is wearing...Probably just plain infantry white (for Galiziens without a specialty) ...not religious purple! Farbe looks light in the portrait!

        - I believe that Latvian legion as well as French and Belgians also had their chaplains. As for the board piping - its clearly not white. My guess would be either blue - as its close to purple, or dark green for administrative.

Its printers details state that it was printed in Lemberg (Lviv) western Ukraine, which was the historical capital of Galicia.

That would make sense, as Lviv/Lemberg was also the main recruiting centre for Galician volunteers.

Yeah, some population in General Gouvernment did use that spelling.

Posting this tab on behalf of Pete:

A very interesting SS-Soldbuch & dog tag for German SS-Hauptscharführer who served as a butcher in Schlächtereikompanie /14th SS-Division "Galizien".
His civilian career was butcher as well.
Unfortunately, the awards page is missing.

Another 14th ϟϟ- Division "Galizien" related Soldbuch for German ϟϟ-Hauptscharführer who served as a ϟϟ-Stabsscharführer /Spiess (sergeant major) at the end of war in the ϟϟ-Panzer Jäger Abteilung 14.
His civilian career was Diamantschleifer / diamond grinder.
Unfortunately, the pass photo is missing, but a very nice portrait photo showing the Soldbuch owner at Stabsscharführer or Rechnungsführer-Lehrgang with two ϟϟ-Kameraden is present.
Note also the interesting details - the "Spiess" double stripes and typical "Spiess" writing pad between Soldbuch owners jacket buttons.
Second photo is post war, showing the Soldbuch owner on HIAG meeting.
Note also the confirmation of (2) wrist watch "D" (Armbanduhr "D") issues, pistols issues - P-35(p) Radom and P-38, confirmation of two private pistols (Kommer 6,35 and Zbrojovka) , Stabsscharführer course, Rechnungsführer course etc, etc ...
