If you think that "S.P.40" was the same as "E.S.P.F."

    .....you might be right!

Even though this one may not be original, it was at least made from one, and that means that there has to be one out there somewhere.

Its interesting, but it certainly doesn't mean that this one was copied from an existing original...

Maybe not 100%, but it is far more likely that there is one, IMO.
Someone would have had to have gone to a lot of extra trouble to make this up, and for what purpose? They would've had to have had an example of the S.P.40 skull and also the E.S.P.F. eagle in hand and then blend the two together somehow, not to mention the fact that they would have to have shared my belief in this theory to begin with. Just my thoughts.

More pics of the same breed, only with different pins. And the matching eagle...

Interesting! The eagle was certainly cast from an original. I sure would love to see the skull that he is using for the casts. Thanks for posting.

Look closer, Chris. The fronts of both of those tks are actually copies of the Overhoff die, not the SP 40. Probably just another hybrid fake meant to fool and confuse.

Good eye, Brian! The first one was hard to say for sure because it looked a lot like the cast fake CupAl S.P.40 skulls. Here is a comparison with the first one on this thread and a fake S.P.40 marked skull. They are pretty sloppy but they do look very similar. Also, castings can distort and flaw in different areas, so that is why this one is so messy looking.

Clearly, the second one that was posted along with the fake eagle was copied after the Overhoff pattern, no question. Anyway, thanks for clarifying that!

Just to clarify, the eagle was copied from an "E.S.P.F." marked eagle, not Overhoff.

...and if all of this is not confusing enough already, here is the same set with the "M1/24" Overhoff markings.
