      No, actually it is standard enlisted insignia that has some age discoloration.

                      No it is not the cap in the Wilkin's book. That beautiful m-43 cap on page 189 is in the collection of Willi S. I believe, and it differs from this one primarily because it has other ranks cloth insignia. The flatwire cap I referred to is in the collection of David Wolfe of Wolfe-Hardin.
