    Heeres GJ-Windjacke in Waffen SS use

    Wanted to start a thread on Heeres GJ Windjacke in the Waffen-SS.

    We are all familiar with the Windjacke used in the Wehrmacht.
    Here 2 WH-Gebirgsjager images; (credit goes to as tagged)

      and here 2 examples of Polizei pattern windjacken in mottled polizei cloth (Grunmeliert), a pattern which always lacked handwarmer pockets and also always had silver bare metal pebbled buttons (as opposed to resin buttons)

        Even the ZOLL (customs) had a mountain branch, patrolling the alpine regions.
        Here some windjacken made in a different pattern with chest pockets in M29 Italian material!

          Here some Waffen SS men on (anti-Partisan) "Bandenkampf" patrol in Slovenia being issued Polizei pattern double breasted Windjacken.
          Again Polizei style with shiny (bare metal) buttons and lacking chest hand-warmer pockets...

            From a reference publication, a recreation of a Handschar member in a Windjacke made in Italian M29 camo...(faded)
            and next image;

            Proof that Handschar did actually use Heer windjacken;
            (or probably an officer arranged acquisition...so unique and an exception rather than the rule?)
            Clearly a standard Heer pattern is illustrated here, but I can't find any more images in Waffen SS use....
            ANY MORE EXAMPLES OUT THERE?

              Here another jacket in Waffen SS use, a camo type wool lined,technically not a windjacke but nevertheless double breasted and even has windjacke style buttoned cuff straps! (again from a collector reference)

              Some might doubt it being war time, but the next image is a period photo which shows a 3/4 length double breasted jacket
              being worn by a waffen SS member. Again technically not a windjacke (windbreaker), instead in wool but still double breasted.

              This jacket in modern days no doubt would be discounted as a war time used piece... (post war civil it appears),
              so you do have to have an open mind sometimes when seeing such odd examples!

              but my thread really has to do with standard Wehrmacht "Windjacke" garments in non-Heer use (Waffen SS or even Polizei)
              ANY examples of HEER Windjacken in Waffen SS service to share? Real ones or war time images?Thanks

                Well this SS uniform study thread did not go anywhere...lets give it another push!
                ANY EXAMPLES OUT THERE OF SS USE OF HEER WINDJACKE?

                Here Serbian SS troops (SS-Serbische Freiwilligen Korps) with Mortar instructor
                (wearing a German double decal OrPo helmet) in Italy 1944.
                Note splinter Windjacke!

                    Here Karstjager Division troops. (posing with an Italian type tank). Sorry a little grainy...scanned...
                    Still clearly shown here a standard Heer Double breasted Windjacke in Waffen SS use.

                    This and the earlier shown Handschar officer in a Windjacke image are the only 2 images that I know
                    of showing SS troops wearing a standard Heer double breasted Windjacke.

                    Any more out there?
