As these uniforms are not valued much the chance they are being copied is less great. Because I find here an almost identical piece, ersatz buttons, slight difference in tailoring, m44 cut and so on makes it more likely to be original. The button stitching, inside pockets, ersatz material, construction, consistent wear makes these items real.
I can't hardly imagine fakers are putting so much effort to copy al these traits for $ 10. And even so, I know when I have this piece in my hand it's real.

M43 caps made of Italian material as the WH counterpart are copied. There are very easy to detect, lack of detail, bad construction, stitching, wear. As they caps are very easy to make they attract forgers. But, who buys these items as a serious collector.
I have an original M43 cap made out if Italian camouflage. The cap has vent holes and lining inside the cap... correct stitching and feel to it.

      Look at this link: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=516738&page=2

Again, a example of a deviation from the standard issue. The chance this is being copied is much bigger than the Italian counterparts. Is this a real SS camo jacket? Yes, I think so.
In Holland we have a saying: What a farmer doesn't know, he does not like.
