    Have you tried to do a search to improve your knowlege?
    Raute means sleeve diamond or "ärmelabzeichen" in German and in this case refering to the rhomboid shape of the insignia.

    The thin grey layer on the reverse, is as Nick points out, often seen on some versions of the sleeve diamonds.
