    Fantastic SS honour present

    Hello gentlemen,

I could buy something really stunning from helmut weitze.

it is about 28cm high, made from black marble. The socket says "Unsere Ehre heisst Treue" - dedicated to Sturmführer "SS Sturm 3 / I / 62 (SS Sturm Karlsruhe).

So I looked for the person - and bingo a later Knights Cross winner and GCiG holder / holder of the ss HR and Ehrendegen.

    NSDAP no. 411630
    SS no. 8569
    Dip. Ing.
    01.1932 SS-Truppführer
    03.1932 Führer des Sturms 5 der SS-Standatre 32
    21.03.1932 SS-Ustuf.
    20.04.33 SS-Stubaf.
    09.11.33 SS-O'Stubaf.
    15.02.34 SS-Staf.
    09.11.33 - 07.05.34 Führer der 62 SS-Standarte
    (1934) Sturmbann III der SS-Standarte 1 der SS-VT
    26.10.34 - 15.02.35 Stabsführer des SS-Oberabschnitts Südost

I have seen this in at least one auction - Andreas Thies offered it lately if I am not mistaken - and I still wonder if it´s real.

A normal Sturmführer and then this kind of personal present and in that style so early?

Too many question marks for my taste.

Very impressive and a fantastic manual work - congratulation.
By the way a good research work - a piece with history.

I see such a present the first time - are there other or similar ones known?

                  Regards Dagaz

As Thorsten said it been auctioned by Thies some year ago. Don't think it sold back then.

Yes his rank in 1933 was Sturmführer, but if you look at his later connections, he must have had really good connections to high political members- 1938 he even was elected for a Reichstag seat.

Looks really nice but on past history if Herr Weitze breathed out I would doubt it was original.

Yes I bought it because I like the design - it will be the heart display for my ss items / relics which will remain in my collection.
