    dirlewanger tab

    Hi guys,

Today I picked up some SS collar tabs. I am putting 2 up now, the rest i will post later. I have checked all under a black light and they look good. All tabs are from a trusted source.
I would really appreciate your opinions and comments.
    Thanks
    Jan

        Thank you for your comment.
The general tab looks suspicious, but the dirlewanger tab looks okay to me.
Could you please explain to me why it is not good?
        Thank you.

Compare to those, snatched from Weitze´s website, which I mean are OK.

              Collar Tab

"Could you please explain to me why it is not good?"

Embroidery thread and "buckram" material are wrong. Gruppenfuhrer tab is also a reproduction and incorrectly executed..

                      Indeed both are no good...Sorry!
Easy red flags (besides embroidery issues) are the thick piping on the officers tab
and the course (fake) buckram used on the Dirlewanger tab with off center embroidery!

I concur with the previous statements, Dirlewanger tab is 100% bad.

Another strange thing, when speaking of Dirlewanger tabs, is the fact that you never see the rank tab for sale, which for privates also had the rifles and the stickgrenade. At least in the beginning of the Dirlewanger units "era".

What I noticed on the stick grenades between the fake and real one is that the real one had a larger head along with the part right under it being exactly the same size. the fake was opposite and the head of the grenade seemed REALLY small.

I was bored and looked around the forum, and by accident I stumbled upon a Gruppenfuhrer tab. In my opinion, it looks the same as mine. More opinions, comments, and explanations as to why my example is a fake and the one in the thread below is an original, would be very helpful...
