I would like to see the liner, buttonholes , buttons etc.. to judge the mantel !
I think the deathshead is a very good copy , the rankpatch is the same one with new stars on it and has a very strange stripe !
I also don't like the cuffband !
But if you look from a distand it looks very nice and original !
I don´t trust this coat. I believe the scull tab isn´t original, and the rank tab with this kinda pins either. The cufftitle when original (what I don´t think) would never woven on an officer great coat in this lousy way. An original SS TK officer black great coat untouched would be very very rar and would have an market price for sure not under 5k. About prices for "original" insignias, a mint cufftitle from Thüringen would be around 1500 Euro, the tabs around the same price, an armand labeled with a black silk label maybe 400 Euro, the shoulder board as yours 200 Euro.
Over all I hope that helps you.
Marc,
I understand that you have sent this coat back now so further comments will be redundant I think but I would have also like to see better pictures of the coat, I.E and labels, were the buttons RZM/ss marked ect ect,
cheers,
Gary
Would a RZM tag have a 37 number on it? Did they issue them in 1937 or just started to make them in 1937. I am new to cufftitles and this will be of a big help to me.

There are a few things that make me uneasy about this coat.
1. The litzen strip on the rank tab is non-regulation.
2. The rank pips look fairly poor quality, even for aluminium.
3. The skull looks like celleon, although that could be just the light in the photo.
4. The Thueringen cuff title did not come about until 1937, while the RZM tab is dated 1936 - although again that could be a combination of old and new insignia stock.
At best, I think this has been 'tampered with', and I'd be inclined to pass on it.
