Doc.... from the photo you provide I would say (IMO) the hair color is FAKE! I have a feeling the fingernails may also be Latvian fakes but better photos showing them in sunlight would be needed for a positive ID!!!
Suntan could also be a fake but again better photos are needed!
              Best Regards!

Peter Manzie...did you pay attention in school?
That tunic is on Grenadier Military antiques, Bruce Herman's site and I have seen other pictures of it....quite a bit of wear on the tunic but not the insignias.Boards are not sewn in as I would expect them to be either.

As for Kai Winkler I have no opinion I know that I bought four SS officer tunics from him and was not convinced they were all period put together one or two were..maybe.

I wonder if these forums are full of people wishing and hoping the educated collectors would disappear so they could sell thier make believe items like Doctor smocks and such and just try endlessly to debate humped up items.

John Pic, Yes, rest assured I did pay attention in school, but I am not in school now, I am on a thread that was suposed to be about Kai Winkler, not Bruce Herman. Thanks for your critique BTW!
Took another look at the tunic and as far as I can see, the wear seems rather uniform overall. IMO.
PS: I don't know Bruce Herman from Adam. I am only evaluating the tunic for how it looks in the photos.

                    Not

I have received several inquiries and just to clarify this is not Kai Winkler, nor a Seamstress that Works for him.

                      and

This Man, previously identified as Kai Winkler is actually Kai Warner. Kai Warner has nothing to do with producing, selling or whacking together SS Tunics. Thank you.

Now were cooking! Kai's tunic and broad collared shirt are original (Third Disco Reich) items! Sad fact though is His rendering of Blondies "Heart of Glass" and the Rolling Stones "Some Girls" are well known fakes! I cant vouch for the other songs either... as he is known in the European trade show circuit as a singer of fakes!
                        Best Regards!

DS is this not the same disco tunic Gottlieb was trying to sell some time back?

                            Hmmm

I see the similarities. You have the Eyes of an Eagle !

                            Weisner, you nailed it.

I dont know you Peter, but it seems you love to jump in first and say something is good, and its an obvious fake,or a known fake. And teh consensus of just about everyone else disagrres with your assessments.,Ive seen this with you several times lately.

You love to voice your opinion when you think something is good, and you are usually wrong it seems. When a knowlegeable person teh caliber of Jon Pic,voices his opinion that something is questionable, you jump in with your defensive antics.Your track record is not that good.

What makes you think you know more, when you are continuosly wrong. On top of it you dont trust the views of others who obviously are more educated.Maybe you need some books,or should pay attention here more, especially to your peers, and others with more experience, than your impulsive guesses..Are you in a different dimension of SS collecting, where things are reversed?Just curious. Not an attack on you just speculation based on your posts.

I suppose I deserve that for asking too many questions, then again there is only so much one can garner from textbooks, that and being in a country where viewing original tunics is next to impossible.

off to Europe again next year, I will do just that.

And id take Pirelli over Firestone anyday.
