      Very nice grouping Steve!

Also adore the picture by Mario, very rare indeed.

For my upcoming book i've written a 20 page article about the GLR, many never before seen pictures and ...well, some other new information

      best regards,
      Gaston

Here's that shot I found of a GLB in wear that I mentioned I had in my collection. A proud wearer of a Germanische Leistungsrune in Bronze.

Also note the other two image from Avegoor which illustrate how rare the Silver award is compared to Bronze, there are only 9 Silver on one cushion, none on the other.

As far as I know are pictures wherein a GLR is acrtually worn also very scarce.

Hereby an example of a picture from my own collection: the only one I have (ever seen). The picture is of (an regrettably unnamed) Dutch SS member: it has only an inked date on the back that reads: 30 November 1944.

                    Best regards,

                    Coco

                      Brendel

                      Rob
Maybe you could show us the beautifull Brendel signatures in the Prüfungsbuch?!?
The Avegoor estate is almost unchanged nowadays.

                          @Jabnus:

When will the book be published. Was it the book that Ailsby was planning on the NSB/Dutch collaboration items ?

                          regards,

                          Etienne

                            Hi Etienne,

No this will be my book. A few years ago i met Ailsby and we talked about a similar project but much smaller, this never got of the ground although someone heard of those wild plans and even made a testcover for a book. Since then a LOT has happened as you know and some things can even be read on this forum...

My book will cover all NSB and Dutch SS insignia and awards and will be published under my own name (pretty unbelievable still!).

The editing proces is finally as good as ready and i can't wait to make the official announcement!

                            best regards,
                            Gaston
