    happy yule-time!
The nordic offerings to the gods (julblot) for them to take care of the crops, is said to been performed at midwinter, for them middle of January. Though there are some arguments about this, Winter Solstice being another date.
This is a painting by Carl Larsson. In which the last years brought the people great famine, so the king is prepared to make the greatest offering, sacrificing himself to the gods.

I'd like to show you some of the wishes cards I've drawn for my friends and relatives, I think you may enjoy:

Great cards. You're very skilled and I bet your relatives will be grateful (I know I had been).

To complete the atmosphere I recommend to listen Blood Axis' album "Blot: Sacrifice in Sweden".

Are they just getting bad press or are they really (neo)Nazi's? (if you know)
