The material is ok, largest parts are "earlier" material, the pistol flap somewhat later but by far not the latest.
    The pistol flap is replaced:

Yes, they made reprints of camo patterns in the 80s already, if dot I can't tell, oak, plane tree and so on they made in the 80s.

However, I remember fake/repro dot stuff to be on the market since very long.

From that bad picture it looks like a janke print to me, what I don't like on the cover is the fully visible clip on the autumn side (which is not impossible but somewhat "unusual").

            Cheers
Yes, Borsarello has made a good "book" about camo (its actually 3 nice ones, but very thin, so no real book), and he knew what he did. However I have to share your concerns ref. the tunic, but its also stated (not visible at the scan) belonging to a french collection, so it was not his, and I doubt he has seen it in person.

Since the subject of books has been brought up, what is the best and most up-to-date reference out there at the moment...

Ive shortlisted about 10 books on Amazon and from other recommendations it seems the - Uniforms of the Waffen SS Vol. 1-3 by Michael D. Beaver are good?

What about - Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS: A Photographic Reference (Schiffer Military / Aviation History) Michael D. Beaver?

Any good recommendations so that I dont go for outdated or incorrect books?

                  Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS

Always take care always take care even some of the best books are not 100% about lies or errors. Lies and errors is then a different subject, but getting all knowledge from a book alone is impossible.

Thanks to bnz.42 and Robert H, many thanks for the quick feedback!

And for sure I understand nothing is infallible or 100% correct, but I have heard a few people mention certain books that
showed uniforms etc... that have since been proven incorrect / fake etc...

                    Thanks again.

It depends what you are after: If "just" camo, go for the 1st book that came out (Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS).

If you are interested in all kinds of SS-uniforms, go for the 3 volume set - in this case you do not need the 1st mentioned (although it contains more details about camo, then the 3 volume contains).

Also, for the "small wallet" I recommend the book about SS-camo by Daniel Peterson.

I have this one (not sure of the errors if any) :

Waffen-SS Uniforms In Color Photographs: Europa Militaria Series #6 by Andrew Steven & Peter Amodio

Its claims most of the uniforms in that book are from the same collection.

I have since seen the same Dot44 pants from that book, with POW markings in white for sale/sold on a dealer website.

I would probably go for all the books I mentioned + the one by M.D. Beaver, on Allgemeine + Waffen SS Headgear....

                        Much appreciate the advice.
