Another question is, what is the white item over the W-armband in the next photo? A Manöver band used for a military training?

Its interesting how not all of the members in this photo have the skulls on their collar tabs. Maybe it was part of ranking, or maybe they just couldn't find or afford skulls (like today )

Normally they used 1-3 Rangsterne (silver/gold) for the ranking and the skulls were on all official collar tabs later, I think. But in the early days everything was possible (ww1 equipment etc.) and sometimes it existed differences between the regions.

            Another example!

Interesting thread, I'll have to come back and read it begining to end.

I wonder why some faces are blocked out, and some not ?

Some W-members wanted to stay anonymous!

For the collectors that are interested in the theme W-armbands!

Wehrwolf members, who had a military sports training, wore an additional Rangstern on the armband. Members, who had a training with harder requirements, wore two Rangsterne next to the skull.

Great photos! Nice and clear. Interesting the badges worn on the sides of some member's caps.

Correct! You have noticed the most interesting photo detail! It is the first Wehrwolf photo, where I have seen it.

PS: Remember! The early "Big Brother" of the Wehrwolf was the Stahlhelm. Stahlhelm members wore official event badges on their caps!

Btw, in the early days a lot of members were member in both organizations. Later it was not allowed!
