As the person who compiled the website could I please be allowed to reply. Firstly, the website never states that any of the items are original (and after reading this thread I have put a note on to that effect) or tries to pass any off as original. If the insignia were issued no photos have come to light and the pictures are for showing what they may have looked like. I am surprised that people are even thinking that they are original. If you check the website I always say 'may have been' or 'allegedly'.
Cuff titles - sources state that limited number may have been issued. I state that no German Insignia was ever issued (except for possibly the 'H' collar patch) The folded cuff title is a repro from a Hungarian website. The museum cuff title and collar patch are repro's (as stated on an other thread on this forum). The cuff title looks embroidered close up. What the museum based it on and why it is on a pea dot suit is unknown to me.
Arm Shields - again sources state that a limited number may have been issued. The photos for Hunyadi and Hungaria shields are included in books written by far, far, far more knowledgeable people than me so I thought I would include them on the site. The site does not state the corn flower arm shield was issued to 22 SS Division, it states that it may have been issued to members of SS Regiment Ney which was originally part of 22.SS Division but became a stand alone kampfgruppe after the battle of Budapest. The shield shown was made for me based on drawings I had seen researching the units (I also came across drawings for arm shields for 1 Schi and 1st Sturmjaeger battalions but I did not include them as no other source mentioned them)
Helmets - the words 'decals' or 'decal' are not used on the site. It states that they were painted on (a German site recently had for sale a helmet with the national colours of Bulgaria painted on)
Armband - I found this on a Hungarian website on the 25 SS Division (and a couple of other websites) I have asked on forums for more information but none has been forth coming (even to say it was a fake)
The uniform shown is also listed as 26.SS Division on some web sites.
The soldbuch is from this forum website (and found on others) and so I hope it is original .....
I am sorry if people some how got the idea that they were being passed off as originals and I hope that this clears a few things up. Information on the Hungarian SS units is limited so I included the armband and other items in the hope that some one may provide some information. The research on the units is still on going and as I find further info I will keep my website updated.
