A far as the honour clasp goes, I could have sworn your first book had a different one than the second one ???

Chris your points are well taken. As to the group you are quite correct and I have seen this done. But on this occasion the piece is integeral with the group. I know you found the other known group and the books run on from one another. This new group is in front of yours. The numbers match as do the signatures. The last group which I only have photos of, again matches with signatures and numbers. The SS file on the group complies, same photo as with group and the dates of transfer match. Date of death also matches that the family give. How would the family have access to a badge let alone one that is different? It is very much like being at the murder and holding the smoking gun. The evidence is extreemly strong, but yes there could be an answer. When we saw your group I was happy to take it on face value. I think this group has as much credance. But again I am not hear to convince you. As with the first type Eagle Order, when I brought this forward it was DEFINITLY A FAKE. Now what do we have, THE VERY RAREST OF THE RARE, in Eagle orders. These fetch up to 100% more than the normal.

I have always been interested in the very different type of badge. Hence this interests me. In the letters which I unfortunatly have not been able to see, is supposed to be a description of the award of the badge. I hope I will find this and will make it known to the forum.

The Naval Honour Roll is one and the same. Look at the 2 photos. Compare. This gives warnings from using photos.

Also I have no problem with anyone wanting clarification on an item, may it be a badge or photo. As I have said I was totaly caught out by the fake citation photo. As to awards thank God I have been more lucky. I do not sell items, so on the hole the items in my books are from my own collection and are hear for any collector to view.
        Thank you for the response.

I have a number of photos showing the collar patch. These I am using in my latest book, together with some very interesting photos of the Indian Legion.

                    Gaspare.

I think it can only be seen in 'Never-Never' Land. Take the yellow brick road, and look somewhere over the rainbow.

                    Regards,

                    Robin.

I'm curious as to whether it's a real one, or not. It seems to me that the catch is incorrect. Initially, I thought the angle of the picture, I suppose that's still possible. But it does not seem correct to me and I'd be very interested in your opinions regarding this badge.

                        Rick.

This is the back of the only type I'm really happy with. Just a personal opinion.

I see the other one has been sold. Big Bucks.

                        Regards,

                        Robin.

Now that I've seen the above photo of the '800' marked badge, nothing changes my opinion. Personally, I wouldn't touch it.
