    That's it in a nutshell.

This thread has been one of the most viewed of recent threads on this forum - over 1200 to date.

There's obviously a great interest in this subject. Rightly so, given the prices at which these things change hands.

So does any other viewer have opinions on this they'd like to share?

Which of the 3/4 variants shown do you like/dislike?

    Any takers??

      Ok, I'll take a shot.
Before reading this thread I would have accepted only the version presented by Mr. Lumsden.
Now I'm propably changing my mind and accepting the badge presented in the beginning of this thread (one with Detlev's certificate).
      Others are in my opinion.

I don't think there were that many variants.

Lets look at the proof of the other forms. At this point I personaly think Detlive Niemann is corect in his proffesional opinion on the badge that was posted. Robin brings this into disrupte by saying he dose not like the piece, but and this I find hard to swollow, I am not saying DN is not right. Are we a swinging gate. Either you agree or you do not. Please Robin tell us. As to the other piece the proof is strong. We have Robin liking the book that goes with the badge, but not the badge. OK, THE BADGE COULD HAVE BEEN SUBSTITUTED, but this is the great point, why. The sale value was small and all the documents fit. As a police officer used to digging the evidence, the evidence is overwhelming. All the facts the family put forward are shown in the SS record obtained from the Berlin Document center. They have confirmed the file had not formaly been opened, thus no dealer or collector has had the benafit of the file. Dr Werner Nowvak has been intoch with the family and they have confirmed the group is as found in the family.

I always look at the item, not the story.
I've heard far too many 'tall tales' over the years.
It's astounding the yarns some people will spin.
I'm not sitting on the fence or swinging on a gate or anything else.
If you believe in it, fine. I don't.
There are even a few 'flat-earthers' still around, and they're all entitled to their beliefs.
That doesn't mean we all have to think the same.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.
And to my eye, the '800' 'beauty' wouldn't win any contests.

See your point, but you have not adderessed the the situation, like the paperwork do not like the badge. DN do not like the badge, BUT ARE NOT DISSAGREEING WITH THE MAN. Come on. You have a legal begeal who has confirmed the story, as a Policeman --------

Robin I think this is a good idea. You might have lost the plot.
