      Cap

I see nothing wrong with the cap. Unusual to see them this worn, as most Dachau-style M-43's were unissued. The wool is very thin and flimsy. I can't see from the photos, but it has a zig-zag type weave. Are there any seams at the back of cap?

Try to show a clear closeup of the wool if possible.

                  Cap

The trapezoid insignia is supposed to be zig-zag stitched as appears to be here. The wool looks fuzzy, but that's probably just the photo. These caps have wool that is very thin and has a zig-zag pattern in the weave, unlike most M-43's. The floppy shape leads me to believe the wool is correct. I see no problems at all. A TIP: Take a nice heavy-duty plastic bag, like from a department store, ball it up, and stuff it in the cap. It will display perfectly. Here's one to compare:

Look closely, and you can see the weave pattern I mentioned.

                            Cap

The stitching around the inside of the lining is standard, but the lining material itself is NOT (at least from the pictures). The lining is almost always the exact material shown on the closeup of my cap. The insignia stitching on the inside is abnormal also, as the insignia was usually applied before the lining was sewn in. Show us the BACK of the cap, and a closeup of the lining material and the size stamp.
