So, let me get this straight. You are now NOT saying that the skull was fake and NOT saying that the insignia was of the incorrect period?

No one is getting "their panties rumpled". It's got nothing to do with that. It's about posting the correct information especially when an item is for sale because then you cast suspicion which you did without a shadow of a doubt, it can screw up a sale for no reason at all so best get it right or shut up.

      Skull

If you take the trouble to read my posts, you will discover that I NEVER said the skull was a fake. I said I didn't like the patina, and that the patina resembled that on fakes I've seen. I NEVER said that an RZM52 was incorrect for the cap - in fact I said I didn't know. Deciphering my comments should pose no problem for you, as they are clearly stated in your native language of English, unless, of course, you happen to be a wandering immigrant, in which case I apologize, and hand over the entire country to you, as is customary in most of Europe. The assertion that I have to bite my tongue so some sale can proceed smoothly is ludicrous. I don't mind one bit if someone on the forum disagrees with me and says why. But telling me to get the facts straight or "shut up" because a sale is involved is not only rude, but contrary to the purpose of the forum. So save the likewise rude, eye-rolling emoticon. You're the one with the cap that has skulls jumping on and off of it like musical chairs. No, your panties aren't in a rumple after all - they're perfectly straight, and the skull is perfect. If you need me for advice, I'll be on the SA forum.

I took a lot of trouble reading your posts. You DID say that you thought the skull to be fake and you DID say that you thought that an RZM 52 was incorrect for the cap. It's right there in black and white for all to read.

That visor is a fantastic item and is right as rain! Also if Ben put his name behind it you can take that to the bank...

            Skull

BenVK - Reprint my quote where I proclaimed this skull is a fake. Post #13, I said "This skull may be perfectly good, ...." I merely said the patina RESEMBLED
the patina on fakes I;'ve seen. This sentiment was echoed by another member as well. Go ahead, Mr. know-it all reprint my words, and show us how smart you aren't. Waiting...........

              Skull

Ironically, I consider BenVK to be among the handful of experts on this forum whose judgement I never question. This has not changed, and if he had posted earlier on the thread that he handled the skull, and that it was good, I never would have questioned it whatsoever. In fact, there was nothing about the skull I questioned except for the finish. Please reprint where I said the skull was a fake, and I'll apologize and eat my words.

                Hello SG,
In this statement you clearly imply that the skull is not unlike fakes you have seen. If anyone read this, it would immediately conjure up feelings of doubt regarding the authenticity of the skull. I think this statement may be the most damning. Your statement is also fortified by the ad-on comment of seeing them as far back as 20 years ago making it sound like "they" have been around for a while and are pretty easy to spot. But......it's all OK as far as I am concerned, because we all have the right to say anything we want. That's why we live in America. Freedom of speech and all that..... If you don't feel comfortable about the way something looks, that's OK. The forum would be very boring if we all agreed with each other, right?

                  Skull

Fair enough - I think where I was confused was when he said that when he got the cap, the previous owner had polished them. The skull in Post #12 is tarnished with the high areas rubbed off.

                    Skull

GOT IT !! I thought there were 2 skulls involved. The light areas ARE from the original owner's polishing. That's probably what I was noticing in my original assessment. Sorry. No offense intended.
