Great find HD,,,,,nice original SS fez,,,,,I place a paper bag filled with newspaper and place inside hat,it holds it shape and it stands off the bottom of sweat band,,,,it works for me,,,I have had that fez like that for 16 yrs..look like the day I got it,,,,,

You and the rest of us fez owners are super lucky! congrats.
But can I be a little picky and particular about your method of keeping yours?

Paper bags(brown especially) and newspaper have tons a acid in their cheap paper pulp make-up. So I would advise you to, at least, put some white 100% cotton fabric between the fez and the paper bag. Another ten years without it may not be so kind to your super possession.(26 years total can get terrible).

In mine, I also have a bag filled with paper to keep the shape. Also fez sits on the bag above the shelf surface, which eliminates contact between lower edge sweatband thread and the shelf.

Muslin cloth placed between the Fez and whatever you choose to display it on should protect it from any potential damage.
