I like the fact that you totally ignore the latest developments in this thread. Only shows that you don't care at all for the core of the matter and now try to spread your harassing fire over the actual topic, you indeed seem to think that by acting like this you serve your buddy well, the opposite may be the case, just keep on going and we'll find out.

Why don't you call your buddy so that (again) he can tell you whether a tab is fake or not, I understand you can't make up your own mind. Or maybe you did but then your opinion changed mysteriously? And if you are already up, ask him if there are other things to talk about.....Naturally I mean like how the weather is.....what else could I mean? Making noises, you see?

Your lame attempt in trying to draw bwanek1 back into that thread is pathetic, however, by doing that you clearly show that you don't care at all for the tabs and that your agenda is solely aimed at open skirmish that then draw the attention from the actual focus.
Just need to make sure this "gem" isn’t edited.

Keep in mind they were found with no Buckram and no Piping.
I wonder if the new owner will restore them to their "original" condition!

Maybe that's what drove you, but to some it might just look as if you had to make sure to keep on harassing and backtalking.

Beside that my posts aren't gems, you are way too kind here.

Well, just because I am not telling the world "that I spent 1000s of dollars on TK tabs and that therefore my tabs need to be real" you mustn't fear that I have to rely on the welfare system, but thank you for your honest concerns about my economic well-being.

Look, I am confused.....I trust you got to see the picture material meanwhile? Or could it be that zilch was shown to you as otherwise I can't see why you still call these tabs fakes?

Show us pictures of your 1000s of dollar tabs please, will you?

                Thank you in advance!

Here are 4 of this style collar tabs that had been worn and removed from tunics. Each has slight differences. The greatest difference is the black highlight embroidery of the teeth.

I wish I could give expert advice, but I have learned that I certainly have not seen it all and have much to learn.

All of these collar tabs have been in my collection for decades, some as long as 40 years.

These two also have been removed from uniforms garments. The charm is the differences.

Peter v. L , WOW !!!!! SERIOUSLY !!!!!! . So, since you are calling my tabs fake, and the wonderful tabs that Bob has shown and owned for 40+ years are also fake, right ????

That is pretty bold of you to insult me and my fellow colleague's knowledge on the subject matter of SS cloth. Especially since we all have a combined total of countless years of collecting and studying SS Cloth.

I have said this once and I will say it again, I have acquired about 98% of my skull tabs from from hotel buys, either by myself or others like Jason Burmeister, Joe Pankowski, Bob Grant, etc... Therefore, you are saying that 80+ year old US veterans from all over the United States have fooled of us all with their fake skull tabs. You are insinuating that since your tabs came from the Plabst grouping , then German Veterans are more honorable and trustworthy than American Veterans, who, by the way, got their war souvenirs from the defeated Germans by the following ways: off of dead soldiers from the battlefields, from surrendering soldiers uniforms, off of uniforms found in barracks, and from SS supply depots. Right ?????? All that I can say again is, WOW !!!!!!!

I too have a few questions: 1) Why won't the original pictures of the grouping be shown ? With the tabs in question. 2) Why didn't the new owner of the grouping want these tabs to go with the group ?? If it was me, I would want to keep the group together, but thats just me. If the group was broken up, then I would try everything that I could to put it back together. If I saw a piece of the grouping that came onto the open marketthen I would go after it. Also, If I used to own something and sold it to one of my customers, then as long as I do not mention his name, to respect his privacy, then WHO CARES if pics are shown. If I used to own it and was proud of owning it, then I do not have a problem showing it off.

                            Grant,

The tabs posted by Bob are all original in my mind. I am also changing my mind about the one in post no # 62 to the left showed by Byron, it is also a good one, I was wrong about it. I am sorry for my hasty judge on that one.

However with the five tabs you have showed there is IMO a difference against all the other ones showed in this thread. I will address the differences more closely in the new thread I am going to start later but the type you are showing, they are all the same, they all have two differences against all other tabs. When you look at your tabs you can see that the embroidery seems very "loose" whereas in the Plabst tabs and all the others in this (Including all Bob´s ones) the thread is very tense.

That could be because the thread I think did not stand tension during manufacturing that is why thy are made rather loose, or they did simply not have the proper machinery when doing them. Compare specially the (from your point of view) right section of the jaw. There you can see how smooth, tense and dense it should look on originals and how rough it looks on yours, also see the very narrow end and space between the bones on your tabs. You have to admit that where ever you got them from each single one of your tabs look exactly like that, there is no variation at all where as all other tabs (Plabst, Bobs etc) look quite different when it comes to how much tension the threads have/show. Your numbered tabs are also all like the un-numbered ones. And finally all the tabs you show are all mint opposite to all others which are worn.

I am not insulting you, many of the guys posting in this thread have been making personal insults, I am not out to insult anyone, I am here to discuss tabs not persons or egos. I have no issue with you I think you are a fine gentleman I am just discussing the tabs you showed in this thread, it is nothing personal.

I am not saying any US vets have been fooling anyone. I am merely comparing the tabs coming from German TK vets with the tabs you have posted. As said here before by several others we have to buy the item not the story or from what veteran US or German they may originate from. I am sure Bob´s and Byrons tabs came from US vets as well and I have nothing against those.

I must say though that I have a hard time seeing a US vet cutting of a vertical TK tab from a dead German soldier in 1944 or later as well as from surrendering soldiers as they where just not in use at that time and they where most certainly not in any SS supply depot then as well. They may have been found in other places though.

                            As to your questions;

                            1. as stated above, the present owner/s of the Plabst items don´t wantthem shown, it is not up to me showing them as I don´t own any items or have any pictures anymore.

                            2. The group was very large and split at start, these tabs are now with the owner of the largest part of the Plabst group, so he certainly wanted them so he just did what you say you should have done.

We have to realize that this is my opinion, it is nothing personal against you Grant. I have never said there is just one type of skulls accepted as others, Bob alone have shown four or five different ones and in the Plabst group one is matching one in Bob´s group and then we have another there so we have 5 or 6 different types here in just a very few tabs.

                            Peter

Is it not possible that all of the tabs being shown here are original, perhaps just from different makers and runs? I don't think that originality in this situation is necessarily exclusive...

Naturally it is possible, that is what we are here to determine.

What we have already determined is that there is not just one accepted type as Mr Toncar stated.
