However, if it helps you sleep at night, rest assured that there are many of us who enjoy collecting loose insignia and also take great pleasure in reuniting them with the caps and tunics on which they belong. There are more than a few forum members who could show you caps and tunics in their collections, which bear insignia I provided to aid in their restorations.
    I am one of them
Thanks to Brad I was able to complete my ss o visor again.

the rising prices of SS items .... what would happen in ten years from now?

perhaps in the region of 5k for a skull like this?!

Im no ss collector and i never will, but i realy like to read the ss forums and look at the high end stuff that i never can affort to buy. Hats of to you guys who are willing to risk alot of money for the hobby, i guess SS collecting is mutch more thrilling than, like me, iab collecting. Some prices are so high that they remind me of the Dutch tulip Mania in the 1600's. http://www.damninteresting.com/the-d...ubble-of-1637#
          Again, respect

SS items will never be made again (except for fakes) - so there is a limited supply.

Like American Civil War collectibles, the prices on rare SS items will probably keep going up. Although Civil War prices makes SS look like chicken feed.

This Confederate battle flag sold for $175,000 back in 2006.....

Or how about Gen. Jeb Stuart's personal battle flag at $956,000.....

The 956 thousand dollars flag is a piece of our national heritage and will continue to hold its value and rise in value...same as paintings by old masters..now as for SS skulls and the like in theory those will hold their value and rise in value, but what can and does hurt value are quality reproductions.

The dollar drops in value weekly compared to other currencies, gold over a thousand dollars an ounce is a bad thing because people are holding gold instead of dollars, so do you really want to just have a lot of dollars...what do you do with your money...you buy collectibles/real estate etc...and this is where investors get involved and prices rise, now there are those of us who love the history behind the items and collect for that reason and that is another reason that prices rise, too many people chasing after a limited quantity of items (SS skulls )....
