A good one. I won't discuss the price, people can ask whatever they want IMO.

The skull is a total beauty! The initial price at USD 1850 was far too high IMHO.

$1,500.00 would be about right for the skull, IMO.

A beauty indeed and if it wasn't for my empty pocket I would have grabbed it

that price is way too high IMO, I had one like this that I sold last year not even for half that price.

I really don't understand the prices of these things,. Is one skull really worth a quarter of the whole value of a complete SS visor cap?

Plus, they have no meaning on their own. They were designed to be attached to hats.

No offence to anyone but I feel very sad that they are being snapped up by people who have no interest in placing them back on original caps.

If that is what people are willing to pay--and they are--then that is the value.

Do collar tabs have no meaning on their own if they are not on the tunics they were meant to be on? Cuff titles? Sleeve eagles?

Well, a lot of people simply can't afford complete caps or tunics. Regardless, there are FAR more loose insignia then there are caps and tunics which are missing their insignia, so you needn't worry. However, if it helps you sleep at night, rest assured that there are many of us who enjoy collecting loose insignia and also take great pleasure in reuniting them with the caps and tunics on which they belong. There are more than a few forum members who could show you caps and tunics in their collections, which bear insignia I provided to aid in their restorations.

I find it interesting to see the complaints about the price of this skull when a couple of months ago an identical skull sold on the e-stand in a couple of hours for $2500.00. No one said anything about that price, even though it was $650.00 more than this one. Perhaps it sold so fast the price complainers did not have time to mobilize.
                      best wishes,

I agree the prices are ridiculous but people can spend their money any way they like.

At least the buyer got something for his money - it's just as easy to blow all that and more at a Casino.

Well, even I did not know that they were selling that high.
If so, then that is their value. I paid $2,500.00 for a D.&S.M.
(Which is rarer than the aluminum), so it should bring 3K now.
Just can't keep up with the rising prices of these things.

                            Best, Chris
