I believe the box is original but I doubt the SS figurines that came with it are the ones that were originally in it. The guys depicted on the front were probably the ones that originally came with the box.

Thanks for the great reactions everyone glad I am finally able to post something SS related that doesn't get me a

What a superb grouping! Who wouldn't be proud to display that?! The box is simply amazing.

                      Lupara,
The SS marcher 2nd from right is an original Lineol figure, but the others are all reproductions.
If you compare the moldings/paint on that figure with the others, you will see the difference in quality.
The box is a fantasy item. Lineol made a few illustrated boxes, but nothing like this one. I think these sets were made in germany, but long after 1945...
                      Sorry.
                      Regards,
                      Fred

                        Gee

That's depressing. Welcome to the World of Militaria collecting where not even little Toys are safe.

Are Elastolin and Lineol the same? He stated it was a mix of both. The photos seem difficult to tell detail.

                            Dennis,

No, they are products of 2 different companies. Lineol made Lineol figures, and Hausser made Elastolin figures. The term "Elastolin" is sometimes used (incorrectly) to describe any composition figure.

Both are made of composition material (wood powder/glue mixture) over a wire and/or wooden framework. Typically Lineol bases are square/rectangular, and Elastolin oval.
                            Regards,
                            Fred

Are the fakes made from the same composition material?
