Yes Danny, captured Partisans I believe..Have seen these images before.
Heer soldiers etc did the same.
However,W-SS were known for executing captured POW's. (allied soldiers) I am certain that in some cases the allied soldiers did the same with them as payback.

By that way:
- that happened more often as one would be willing to believe!
When in early April 1945 the village in Westphalia where I was born and grew up was occupied by Allied Troops they captured some german soldiers in that night and drove away with them.
The next day there was a heavy fight in the next village (5 km from my village) called Tietelsen between parts of the SS-Panzerbrigade Westfalen plus Heeresersatzeinheiten and the 3rd Tank Division - as a result about 50% of the village burned down and about 50-60 allied soldiers being killed in action - no loss on german side!
When the german troops left towards the river Weser one shot from a Tiger killed 12 american soldiers at once while having a discussion.
Result: following day via searching for a horse that escaped in the forest (obviously because of the battle) a farmer from my village found in that forest between the two villages 13 german soldiers lying there handcuffed on their back with ropes and all being killed in captivity by a shot in the neck.
Another killed soldier has been found on the street nearby.
The youngest one was 16 and the oldest one 54 - today at that place there is a little cross made of stone with 14 little crosses (in shape of the Iron Cross) inside and the people of my village take care about that place.
The murderers are still today unknown because the Army never searched for them...
And this is definitely just one episode from about 4-5 in my region that I know about and there was never ever an investigation afterwards.
Yes - the "victors" were cruel and enjoyed their easy hunt in 1945.

There where enough other soldiers that fought in the same way and with the same spirit for Germany. It is also pending who was getting supplies and who not and further who received the propaganda and who not. Amen to this and I think some people like only to hear what they want to hear and have some big dreams they dream about. In regards of killing we can choose photos from any branch and from ANY nation and from any decate.
Thorsten, thanks for your input.

Objective
Hey knock off the Politics please! I mean I will not stand for Allied Pilots being forced from Rest Homes and being tried for the Criminal and intentional Bombing of Children and old folks with Magnesium Firebombs. And don't mention those 99 Allied Soldiers that Eisenhower hung in France to slow down the Allied Rape and Plunder of France. Let's get back to the TOPIC!!

sinister black uniforms fighting to the death (general comments in a post)
Most of the 900,000 who were in the Waffen-SS never owned a black uniform.
Having known and met more than my share of them of higher rank or award holders, funny how many group all into a "fanatic/murder/camp/sinister/similar" description, including all Waffen-SS.
The stuff sells for more because most think every SS member executed someone, was in a camp, served with Heydrich, or got the Knight's Cross for shooting Russian prisoners (with a Tiger tank). All while wearing their black uniform. It's a collective image, I doubt most collectors could name 10 SS personalities without having Peiper, Dietrich, Wittmann, Himmler, and Heydrich on the list.

1.war crimes exists from all sites(every nation) who fight in WW2.
2.mark you are right:"Most of the 900,000 who were in the Waffen-SS never owned a black uniform"but this a the typical argument from german tv/books.
look a german historical documentation ala"knopp"(the maker think its historical)and you will see the most part is the kl/war crime story about the waffen-ss but the kl troops will treasured with 20-22.000 man.from 900.000 w-ss members the kl troops are ca.2,6%with all true and not true war criminals i think you came not over 3%(only treasured).so i dont think the w-ss have make more war criminals than other troops.
3.dennis you are complete right.pictures cant never depicts war.its only a second of years.
4.thorsten thanks for the story.
5.the great problem what we(germans in germany) have is that you not can tell "this"(whatever) is not true.you will never see in germany a historyteacher or a historian who sayed that open in tv etc.because after this he can beend his job.and when he had realy bad luck he going in jail for this.this people called in germany"revisionisten"and they become often hard problems.because of this you see only other historians from other states who make this.
6.a lot of books(true or not)are forbidden in germany.for me its a new"bücherverbrennung"like this in the 3.reich.
7.for me are the waffen-ss not bad guys.some yes but the most not.
8.for me is the w-ss a elite force and this is my argument why i collect w-ss and hard pay for.
