Its real fine that forums like this exists. Because when some persons think that a item is repro or build, for me as buyer the tunic is no longer interessting and so i know whats to do. But thanks to all how help me with this tunic.
well, its supposed to be a 'made to order' jacket,,with the guys rank and awards all on it. Too bad,,they went to a lot of trouble and still messed it all up!
Whats interesting is that the collar tab looks like the right size you see in some of the photos instead of the mini 'dachau' stored one!
Could you post a close up of the dirlwanger collar tab, sometime in the future when you eventually get back to the uniform in person..as i know you have no more photos .
I have an original i can post to compare for you if you would like to see how they compare to one another . Thanks I will reserve comments till that time.
Im sure you wouldnt want to invest in anything thats not right for a lot of money if it is all wrong ...would you? Isnt that the purpose of posting it here?? Thanks
i agree with your opinions. But only a few question, because its diffrent when you see something on pictures and when you have it in your hands. It was normal in this time that you order a tunic in ravensbrück or buchenwald with your decoration and rang. So the EK.2 Band was normal. The collar tabs have the right sice, a little bit smaler than other ones. Maybe can someone say something to the armeagel and the shoulderboards? Because when someone comes to me and say 500 for a tunic like this ok, fake. But when someone come and say 4000 you think about. And i see a lot of uniforms in my live, this one is not a ceap copy. Thanks again to all how helps...
What are you talking about... special order? You got stuff ISSUED, not by order. These came out of the factory with the sleeve eagle ONLY for the most part. Everything else would be put on by the company tailor, or other tailor if one wanted. SS-BW stamp is a fake pure and simple and so is the insignia for the most part: sleeve eagle, shoulder straps. If you WANT to believe in this and buy it, go ahead. Nothing out of my pocket. You asked for an opinion and you got it. Now it's up to you to either accept our educated opinions based on years of study and experience, or ignore us and blow your money on this piece of crap! Ball is in your court.
Coming from a different angle, the printed tag (not the stamps) looks like it is set in a typeface called Helvetica that was not used until after 1957...
