                  I think that we all would not be disappointed if you would share some pics of one of your Bernstein-MK-issues here.

                  It is quite remarkable how much effort they took within the Third Reich to let a book become a piece of art!

                    Thanks guys this was brought back by a captain Hickman from appleton manor he later became the director of Hickmans steelworks one of the largest steel companys in the uk,the guy i got it from purchased it from an auction at the manor approx 15 years ago, its nice to know a bit of history on it, cheers Dave

                        Very nice. Has it been refinished at some point? It is darker than I would expect, and without any visible wear. There is a spot on the bottom that looks like oil stain. Given the repair work that has been done, I wonder if the woodworker didn't go a step or two further.

                        Either way, I envy you. If I could own any SS item (within reason) I'd want one of these.

                              me being a bit of a scrooge try to keep the lights at a minimum and all my lights are energy saving bulbs thats why it looks darker than it actually is and hasnt been refinished the repair is a split that has just been glued , heres a lighter pic, cheers Dave
