Here is a similar example for a Heer Oberst also Tailor made. This has been cleaned and was about the same color as yours when I got it. The base material is Flax. IMO the only way to say which service it was for would be based on the original insignia. These were non-regulation very light versions of the summer tunic probably worn by all 4 services.Attached Files

Thanks for posting the tunic John, but I want to make sure we're all on the same page. The tunic you show is cut in nearly the textbook style for a Heer Officer's New Style White Tunic. It has the stand & fall collar, french cuffs, 6-button front (rather than the 8-button front commonly found on these) and yes it's made from a similar material. I say nearly because it does not have the seams on the back, nor the belt support buttons on the back as you mentioned.
I'm not the type to grasp at straws, but I have yet to see a pic of an Army officer/NCO wearing a tunic of the design or material I posted.

I agree John that it's a private purchase summer weight tunic. The question I have is whether-or-not we can say with some consensus that it tilts more towards W-SS than Army? This obviously has a moderate impact on the price. I'm not trying to be greedy, but if this is without doubt Army (which I'm certain it's not) then I think with the SS boards off it should sell for around $500. If I list it as W-SS it will be around $1500ish with the boards.
You have numerous pics of a well known W-SS figure wearing an almost identical tunic, seams above the pocket that would look completely out of place with a pin- or sew-on breast eagle, and lack of cuff slits. I have a hard time believing an Army officer would have a tunic made with design features that run contrary to every other service tunic they wear??
Still an interesting discussion and I appreciate your input.

If I could find a nice W-SS officer's buckle I'd keep it
In any case I appreciate your comment.
