I saw that one for sale as well................very odd.

I've never heard of an un-named replacement ring.

The way i understand it.. you could have it replaced if lost or worn out(but for a worn out ring it had to be returned ).... But i would assume(not sure) they would replace it with a personalized replacement same as the original ,as it doesnt make sense to replace a ring without the awardees name inside along with the normal signature etc... except... the version may be a later generation ring as the dies changed as the years passed. maybe it was a store display ring from GHAR?? Im nterested to see what the real answer is if anyone knows for sure.

No Didn't get pic's don't know if Robin did.
But in the sales pitch he said the original ring had already been sold, this one was from the same family an seen as a replacement for the original
but with no inscription. So he didn't send the old one back before getting the second.

                  I didn't get pix either.

But it looked like a standard 1940s ring.

One thing for sure .No way to know where it came from or who it belonged to. If it is an original ring the family might have removed the name. It was'nt popular to be associated with the SS after the war.

Too me it does not even look like a good fake. It may have been copied from a real one, but it certainly was not made with a 40s pattern die by Gahr or anyone else.
