I am sure suprised...it IS aluminum , even the round wires(al)..

I happened upon it long ago, and just never posted it. Got to thinking when i ran across it in a box if stuff the other week...i needed to see what the opinions were...as i always wondered...but as i said, i was not expecting any positive comments because of the aluminum wires usually get thumbs down .

If you want any other better shots , if these dont show details enuf i can take some more.(no makers marks) But if not ill assume its for the cavalry unless someone has some other comments to the negative. Thanks for the feed back winkelman. You too robertoroni. Your nickname isnt beef ...is it?(just kidding...couldnt resist)

I dont see as much similarity to the robertoroni skull, different dies i believe, but thanks also for posting that one anyway.

Is that one an original? That one doesnt seem to be aluminum, like the one i posted. The details are also not as fine, as this one i posted , but even has a die flaw in several spots i figured might help determine it....so... Ill add it to my other cased skulls in the case i hear nothing bad from here on. Skulls are just getting too specialized a study anymore.
Should i post it on the skull thread with the others...or..anyone has my permission to do so if its worth being in with the rest as another example.

      Thanks to all again

But ALU wires never disqualified e.g. a > WH < cap-eagle , or did they ? My alu skull came from an all WH-insignia collection that was an unusual 100 % correct , so I have faith in it . [ The WESTLAND cufftitle I posted yesterday came from a small SS-insignia collection that was 99.9 % repro - but worth it ..]

And my skull? Apparently, it comes from so-called "Berlin hoard.?? I read this on a one side: This is known as one of the "Berlin Hoard" patterns as a number of this and another style where found during demolition work at a Berlin building.
At least that I know, but I am not firmly convinced.

Thanks ....I have a westland i should post next to yours i got right from a vets estate i know is good.(couldnt find the photos when you posted yours so you could compare), and on the berlin hoard ...I cant intelligently comment on , as i i dont know either but did read the story they claimed ...its just too bad the finder of the hoard wasnt documented as to how many found and where for posterity. Theres a lot of different skulls that are good. Thanks for the comments.

Hi, i purchased a skull from the berlin hoard recently on the e-stand myself (i believe i've seen yours there as well am i right?)
If you want to read all about the Berlin Hoard and all the different type of skulls that were discovered, i recommend this thread.

              Anyway, here's mine:

-edit: a very interesting picture from the Berlin Hoard
