Since I was a kid I have always been drawn to the Winter colors of the SS smock .
This side has warm colors and is different from the British DPM I grew up looking at every day.
When the pattern has the blocks somewhere I go ga ga for pea nuts .
Here is one of my block pieces that floats me boat.

            My final lot

First of all: Amazing displays – really impressive, guys !!!

My contribution to this thread has a more personal value because of the personal relation !!!

Hermann who was Rottenführer in Wiking gave me all of his belongings close to his death (which made me very sad – he was a great guy !!!).

Before Hermann went to Walhalla he however told me a lot of very interesting stories from the war – stories that his belongings confirm.

            - First of all there naturally is his Wehrpass with everything from ’40 throughout ‘45 written in it.
            - Secondly – and this is THE item I have treasured the most – there is the cuff that he wore all the way.
            - Thirdly there is his picture album which shows pictures all the way from home, through France and the Eastern Front (yes – he got his butt kicked in Budapest).
            - Finally there are all the official papers and letters (just one RARE bird on the pic).

I’ve had a lot of very expensive goodies in my collection over the years – but Hermanns lot was the most important because of the personal value which can't be counted in Dollars or Euros !!!

            Best

                    BTW: What was Hermanns nationality?

                      Thanks

Hermann was Danish - a part of the German oriented miority in the southern part of Denmark.

Man in center looks to be higher than an Ustuf so I'd guess (if name given correct) it is Kurt Hoffmann. He was 1.Kompanie Chef of the eventual Aufklärungsabteilung.

Hello, thank you for your help. There is a dedicated photo from Werner Wolfe made out to Hoffman. Here is another pic of him, I believe he is Panzer Gren. Thanks agaian. Best, Bill
